You Shall Live and Not Die

Today there may be some things in your life that are sick and at the point of death. In fact maybe the thing that you are related to has even died. What do I mean when I say it may have even died? Like Mary and Martha who temporarily lost a brother named Lazarus, you might just have something that is related to you that has passed away and like Mary and Martha, you too need to experience God’s Resurrecting Power in your own life.

Unlike Mary and Martha, maybe you didn’t lose a brother but you lost a job, a mate, or maybe your marriage is on the brink of disaster. For some the very thing that may be troubling you is your physical health or your finances. No matter what situation you’re facing right now, I want to let you know that the thing to do is to send for Jesus. When Mary and Martha’s brother was at the point of death, the first thing they did was “send for Jesus.”

“Send For Jesus?”
The phrase “send for Jesus” is interesting in that it reveals a heart of prayer. The primary reason Mary and Martha sent for Jesus was for the purpose of having Him present to minister to their sick brother. Today I believe that you might just be in a similar place of desperation. A place where everything around you lacks the ability to help or minister to you in the way that you need. Today, you might just be in a place where you too need to “send for Jesus.”

For the Glory of God
What is interesting to note about Mary and Martha after they sent for Jesus is the response of Jesus. In John 11:3, Jesus’ response after he hears the request of Mary and Martha is…“this sickness is not unto death but for the glory of God.” Listen to God’s response again because I believe it is the same response today, which is…“the thing that is sick in your life shall not die but live. For I am revealing My Glory in you in such a way that everything related to you is about to resurrect. Sick things will come into health and dead things will receive life in abundance. For I am the Lord and I know the plans I have for you…plans for peace, a future and a hope.”

His Word is Sure
Although Mary and Martha weren’t around during the time Jesus made His reply, God’s Word still stands despite who is around to hear it. God’s Word is so sure that it always fulfills its purposes despite what could ever happen to prevent it or negate it. Today I want to encourage you. You may not hear everything God says about you and the trouble you face but that’s OK, because as long as God is thinking and speaking good things about you—which we know He does according to Jer. 29:11, you are fine! For the Scripture reveals that GOD’S WORD CANNOT BE BROKEN.

He loves You
Lastly, what is interesting to note is the unfailing love that God has for you. After Jesus gives His response in light of Mary and Martha’s request, the next verse says, “Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.” Wow! Today I tell you the truth. NOW, not later but RIGHT-NOW Jesus loves you, too. Now the good news is this…because He unfailingly loves you, you can rest assured that He is going to resurrect you out of any trouble or hurt you may be facing in your life.
